The Matrix Machine™
The Matrix technology is a new class of electric machine that includes all devices currently known as reluctance machines. The Matrix machine is a fully reciprocal, variable speed electric motor that can be operated in either motoring or generation mode and can be switched instantaneously between modes without any hardware adjustment.
When operating as an electric motor, the Matrix machine can accept AC or DC feed – making it the ideal replacement for existing motors. In generation mode, the machine can generate DC or AC. Aurora Industrial Machines is currently certifying its 10kw machine for full commercial production.

Why we built the machine. Globally, electric motors consume almost half of all generated electrical energy. There are currently more than 2.3 billion electric motors worldwide. Together, they consume 7.5 petawatts of electricity every year. Efficiencies gained in this area could save substantial amounts of energy, emissions, and money.
